Small editorial team discussing investment concepts around a table

Our story

Why we started horitong

horitong began as an internal reading list, shared between a handful of people who kept sending each other explainers on diversification, risk tolerance and market cycles. We noticed how much of that material was either overly technical or written to promote a specific fund or platform.

We built horitong to sit in between: written for a general reader, factually careful, and free of any commercial agenda. The website has been maintained and expanded since 2020, one article at a time.

What guides us

Our editorial principles

No commercial bias

horitong does not sell financial products, funds or paid advisory services. We have no affiliate arrangements with brokers, funds or platforms.

Plain language first

If a concept can't be explained without jargon, we haven't finished writing it. Technical terms are always defined in context.

General, not personal

Everything we publish is general information. We do not offer individual investment recommendations or advice, and we say so clearly.

Who we are

The people behind horitong

horitong is run by a small, independent editorial team with backgrounds in financial education, market research and journalism. Articles are reviewed before publication and updated when facts or figures change.

Editorial review

Every guide is checked for clarity and factual accuracy before it goes live, and reviewed periodically after publication.

Based in Switzerland

Our team works from Geneva, Switzerland, though the content we publish is written for a general, international audience.

Reader-funded outlook

The site is supported by minimal, non-intrusive advertising rather than product sales, so our incentives stay aligned with readers.
